I’ll admit it, I got quite excited when I heard about the re-branding of Peacocks. I don’t think I had ever been inside a Peacocksbefore but I happened to be in Southampton on the first day of their opening. When I couldn’t find anything I liked I wasn’t overly surprised, not even particular disappointed, but when I then went in to their Luton branch and their Stoke branch and a few others and still found nothing I gave in to the idea that Peacocks was shit, is shit and always will be… shit.

But then! bored one afternoon I was wandering around town and there low and behold a pair of brogues identical to those in Topshop! The only difference… was one pair cost £75 and the other £12! I am that pleased with my cheapo brogues that I took a photo of them of their debut night out!

Moral of the story: Persist with Peacocks and you might just come acorss something great.
(But for everyday shopping avoid it like the plague!)

I think it’s great that high st. shops are ripping off other high st. shops! With fashion how it is today and the whole ‘credit crunch’ no one wants to pay £75 for a pair of shoes! Ok…so they may last for 5 years….but after 3 months they’ll be out of fashion!
I get that Topshop and the likes sell quality clothes but theres just no point in paying for it when we live in such a throw away society!
